Nepali Congress (NC) has formed a seven-member taskforce to address the concerns and grievances of dissatisfied Janajati (indigenous ) leaders of the party.
A meeting of the Nepali Congress held at its party headquarters in Sanepa on Thursday formed the taskforce under the leadership of party Central Committee member Bhim Bahadur Tamang.
The NC moves comes at a time when Janajati leaders of CPN-UML who are disgruntled with party leadership over its resolute stance on multiple-ethnicity based federalism are mulling to quit the party.
The taskforce has been given a month's time to advice the party leadership on addressing the demand of Janajati and Madhesi leaders of the party who are applying increasing pressure on the party to be flexible on the issue of multiple-identity based federalism. nepalnews.com
