Former women Constituent Assembly members from major parties have called for resurrection of the dissolved Constituent Assembly (CA).

Majority of women CA members from the UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, CPN-Maoist and some Madhesi parties, who were present in a meeting held in the capital on Thursday, spoke in favour of resurrection of the CA for a brief period in order to promulgate the new constitution.

The ex women CA members also reached an informal understanding to pressurise the leaderships of their respective parties for CA revival.

Their call comes at a time when majority of the former CA members from the Nepali Congress are campaigning for the CA resurrection.

However, none of the parties have formally decided to go for revival of the assembly. nepalnews.com
