The Terai Madhesi Loktantrik Party (TMLP) is preparing to present formal proposal in the next meeting of the ruling United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) to form a single party to represent the Madhesi people.

A statement issued by TMDP today said the meeting of the party’s central committee held on Thursday concluded that the Madhesi parties need to unite and that the Madhesi people want a single party to strongly uphold their voices.

The party also formed a three-member committee headed by vice chairman Hridayesh Tripathi to start talks with other Madhesi parties for formation of single party. The committee also has Jitendra Sonal and Pushpa Thakur as members.

The central committee meeting also decided to hold the conventions of all the district committees of the party by August 31. nepalnews.com
