The Election Commission (EC) has rescinded the election code of conduct after declaring that the Constituent Assembly polls are not possible on November 22.
Issuing a press statement, the EC said the 12-point code of conduct enforced by it would cease to exist and that the government had been informed about the decision.
The EC's decision to scrap the code of conduct, which was issued soon after the announcement of the election date by the government, comes a day after it announced that political consensus was a must for conducting the elections and that it would not possible to do so on November 22. nepalnews.com
