Senior UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has said the UCPN (Maoist)-led Federal Democratic Republican Alliance (FDRA) announced on Wednesday would only invite political confrontation.
"At a time when the parties need to arrive at a consensus to end the deadlock, the Maoists' move to form alliance will only push the country to a dangerous situation," Nepal said while speaking to a group of media persons at his Koteshwor residence Thursday morning.
He said the FDRA was formed with the aim to sideline the "democratic parties".
The UML leader also claimed that Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai would be removed from his post through a street movement. According to him, the opposition parties were convinced that Bhattarai would not resign until a there is a powerful protest movement against them and that such a movement would be launched soon. nepalnews.com
