The newly formed CPN-Maoist has decided to hold first general convention from January 9 in Kathmandu.
A meeting of the party's politburo held at the party headquarters in Buddhanagar Friday announced the date for the general convention, which is expected to run for five days. The party also formed the 'general convention main organising committee' headed by secretary Netra Bikram Chand.
According to party spokesperson Pampha Bhusal, the party office-bearers have been given the responsibility to prepare the constitution and the policy and organisational documents to be presented in the general convention.
The CPN-Maoist was formed under Mohan Baidya's leadership on June 19 this year after a vertical split in the UCPN (Maoist). nepalnews.com
