CPN (UML) leader Madhav Kumar Nepal Saturday said that his party was not in favour of any alliance like the one floated recently by the ruling allies.

Indirectly reacting to UCPN (Maoist) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal's comments that the Nepali Congress and the UML could as well form an alliance instead of criticising the Federal Democratic Republican Alliance (FDRA) headed by him, Nepal said that the UML saw point forming any kind of alliance as it would further widen the rift between the parties.

"The Maoists formed the alliance after seeing their position weakening," Nepal said, accusing the UCPN (M) of trying to instigate communal strife by fueling ethnic sentiments. nepalnews.com
