Seventeen youth and student wings affiliated to various political parties including Nepali Congress and CPN-UML staged demonstration in front of Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai's official residence in Baluwatar demanding his resignation on Sunday.

Cadres of various student and youth organizations including NC- aligned Nepal Student Union (NSU) and UML- aligned Youth Association Nepal (YAN) picketed the PM's residence as part of their protest programmes to exert pressure on PM Bhattarai to step down.

On the occasion, YAN also publicised the results of the mock elections held on August 16 to know public's opinion regarding the continuity or change of the government.

Of total valid votes, 1,487,310 votes were in favour of a national consensus government while 19,801 were in favour of current government. nepalnews.com
