Agitating youth and student unions affiliated to various political parties have continued their protest against recent fuel price hike on Saturday as well.
The student unions including Nepali Congress-aligned Nepal Students Union (NSU), and UML-aligned All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU) have been obstructing the government vehicle and the vehicles bearing Indian number plate to ply on roads in the capital city.
They also imposed chakkajam (transportation halt) from 9:00 to 10:00 am in front of various colleges in Kathmandu.
The protesting students said they would continue strike until the government withdraws its recent decision to hike the prices in the petroleum products.
The Nepal Oil Corporation had increased petrol price to Rs 125, diesel and kerosene to Rs 97, aviation fuel to Rs 120.69 per litre and LPG cylinder to Rs. 1,470 on Monday. nepalnews.com
