Preparations are being made to take the ailing Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala to Singapore for treatment after the octogenarian leader developed further health complications Friday morning.

Reports quoted family sources as saying that Koirala will be flown to the South East Asian country on Saturday.

The NC President remains admitted at Shahid Gangalal Heart Center in the capital since Tuesday after suddenly falling ill due to infection in his lungs.

Koirala suffers from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) or Bronchitis since long including low level of oxygen in his blood and other recent health complications.

Koirala's personal physician and aides are flying to Singapore later today to make necessary arrangements for his treatment there.
