Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of the parliament has decided on Sunday to scrap the membership of expelled Maoist leaders Matrika Prasad Yadav and Jagat Prasad Yadav. Constituent Assembly (CA) chairman Subash Nemwang will make a formal announcement on this in the next CA meeting.

The decision has been taken on the recommendation of a panel led by Nepali Congress CA member Pushpa Bhusal. The panel was formed after Unified CPN (Maoist), which had nominated Yadav duo to the parliament, sought annulment of their CA membership following expulsion from the party.

Both Matrika and Jagat Yadav were formerly members of the erstwhile CPN (Maoist). They announced, they would quit the party and reconstitute the original CPN (Maoist), after the erstwhile CPN (Maoist) merged with CPN (Unity Centre-Masal) to form the Unified CPN (Maoist), in February.

The UCPN (Maoist) will now nominate two persons to fill up the vacant CA positions. nepalnews.com
