Irrigation Minister Bal Krishna Khand has said the government will be 'forced' to stop funding to the Maoist combatants if they continue to engage in violent activities.
Speaking at a programme organised by the pro-Nepali Congress Press Union in Hetauda Wednesday, minister Khand accused the Maoist combatants of involvingĀ in violent activities and that the government would freeze the budget to the cantonments if they failed comply with the peace accord.
"The state won't be obliged to provide funding to the combatants if they breach the peace accord," he said.
He, however, said that the government would give a chance to the Maoists to 'correct' themselves before it moved on to stop funding to the cantoned combatants. nepalnews.com
