Acting president of Nepali Congress Sushil Koirala has claimed that integration of Maoist combatants into Nepal Army will invite conflict in the country and that there should not be any integration whatsoever.

Speaking at a face-to-face programme organised by pro-Congress Nepal Press Union in Sindhulimadi Friday, Koirala said the country might slide into civil war if the Maoist combatants are taken into the NA.

The NC acting chief, who spent most of his time criticising the Maoists, further said the government could provide each combatant with Rs 5 lakh to 1 million cash and send them home instead of going for an integration drive.

He argued that promulgation of new constitution is not possible until the management of Maoist combatants completes.
