Nepali Congress acting president Sushil Koirala and senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba have said the would run for the post of party president in the upcoming general election of the party.

Koirala announced his candidacy at a face-to-face programme at Reporters’ Club on Friday.

I have decided to run for the post of party president not for the interest of any party factions but with a commitment to implement the policies of NC, Koirala said.

Senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba has indicated he would run for the post of party president, although he has not declared his candidacy formally.

I will announce my candidacy when time comes. I need not announce my candidacy today just because Shushil Koirla did, Deuba told media persons at a hit-tea organized by party leader Ram Chandra Poudel Friday. nepalnews.com
