Myanmarese Foreign Minister Nyan Win arrived in Kathmandu on Monday on a four-day official visit aimed at boosting relations between Nepal and Myanmar.

He came on a Nepal visit at the invitation of Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala.

The visit by the Myanmarese minister coincides with the golden jubilee celebration of establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Myanmar.

During his stay in Kathmandu, he is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, Foreign Minster Koirala including other senior ministers and government officials.

Coming from a largely Buddhist nation, heĀ  will also visit Lumbini, the birth-place of Gautam Buddha.

It is learnt that the Myanmarese Foreign Minister is here to formally extend the invitation to PM Nepal to visit Myanmar after the 16th SAARC summit. nepalnews.com
