CPN-UML vice chairman Bam Dev Gautam has said President Dr Ram Baran Yadav, Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal and Constituent Assembly chairman Subas Nemwang cannot continue in their current positions on constitutional grounds after May 28, the deadline to promulgate the new constitution.

Addressing the Dalit Parliament that kicked off in the capital Tuesday, Gautam said the Interim Constitution has no provision to keep the President, the Prime Minister and the CA chair in their current status after May 28.

He also warned of unprecedented political crisis and 'rule of gun' if the CA gets dissolved for failing to draft the constitution.

The three main political parties - Unified CPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress and UML - should show patience so as not to let the constitution-drafting and peace process derail, he added. nepalnews.com
