Unified CPN (Maoist) has continued bringing cadres from various districts to capital Kathmandu for the demonstrations on May 1 and the indefinite general strike from May 2.

According to data compiled by the police through various sources, almost 100,000 Maoist cadres have entered Kathmandu as of Wednesday evening.

They are in groups at various places including Housing complexes, schools, colleges and party palaces.

Police have identified some 20 locations, where about 20,000 Maoist cadres are taking shelter. According to a data made available by the police, some 5000 Maoist cadres are staying in Dhapasi Housing, 3000 in Universal Boarding School, Dhumbarahi, 3000 in SR Catering, Dhumbarahi, and 2000 in Bagbazaar Party palace.

Maoist cadres entering Kathmandu from various districts were seen marching on the streets of Kathmandu in small and medium groups throughout the day Wednesday.

The Maoist cadres were seen marching on the streets Thursday morning, too. The Maoist cadres, who entered the valley from other districts as well those in the valley, also conducted sanitation campaign and cleaned some parts of the capital, Thursday morning.

Many of the cadres who have come to Kathmandu for the demonstrations are school children under the age of 18. nepalnews.com
