The government has appointed Madhav Ghimire as the chief secretary. A cabinet meeting took this decision Friday evening.

Outgoing chief secretary Bhoj Raj Ghimire has been appointed as the ambassador to Canada.

Likewise, secretary of the Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology, Umesh Mainali, has been transferred to the Office of the President as secretary. Similarly, Sushil Chandra Amatya has been appointed as the ambassador to Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, the government has reinstated Bijaya Nath Bhattarai as the governor of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB).

He was suspended from the post after the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority pressed a graft charge against him. He was acquitted through a Supreme Court verdict this month.

Bhattarai replaces incumbent governor Dipendra Bahadur Kshetry. nepalnews.com
