A contempt of court case has been filed at the Supreme Court against Vice President Paramananda Jha for disregarding the court’s verdict to annul the oath he took in Hindi.

Journalists Nava Raj Nyaupane and Bishnu Prasad Bastola filed the writ at the apex court Tuesday seeking dismissal of VP Jha for undermining the court by calling it ‘a conspirator’ and by defying its orders.

Jha has been attending office regularly even after the annulment of the oath and has taken a stance to neither resign nor take an oath in Nepali defying the court orders.

Constitutional experts have said, it is unconstitutional for Jha to attend office without taking an oath again as the previous oath taking had been annulled.

Meanwhile, VP Jha consulted Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala on his oath taking Tuesday.

Koirala suggested Jha to adopt a middle-path to find solution to the problem, according to sources close to Koirala. nepalnews.com
