A senior government minister has ruled out possibility of any further agreement with the Maoists until the latter dissolve, as what he called, their "parallel army".

Energy Minister Prakash Sharan Mahat said that the Maoists should dissolve their People's Liberation Army (PLA) - the parallel army - by completing the work of integration and rehabilitation of combatants at the earliest.

"Until that is not done, there can't be agreement on a national consensus government," Minister Mahat said at a press meet organised in Biratnagar of Morang on Monday.

Stating that the Maoists are power hungry, Mahat said they are just looking at ways to get into power and not serious towards completing the main task of the peace process that includes completing the integration and rehabilitation work of the combatants languishing in cantonments.
