 Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal
Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has expressed serious concern at the decision of Unified CPN (Maoist) to declare autonomous province and local government by undermining the authority of the state.

At a meeting with newspaper editors and senior journalists in his official residence in Baluwatar on Wednesday evening, he said Maoists are again trying to opt the path of rebellion through these acts of theirs.

"Undermining the authority of the state, the Maoists have decided to form autonomous provinces and local government," PM Nepal was quoted as saying by Kantipur Daily, "now the time has come to think what the Maoists really wants.

"He said he was taking every available measure to clear away the deep mistrust between his party UML and the Maoists (which was precipitated after President Ram Baran Yadav reinstated Army chief Rookmangud Katawal by reversing the Maoist Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal's decision) but instead of showing flexibility, the former rebels have announced protests both from the parliament and the street to topple his government.

PM Nepal also accused Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal of being very ambiguous on integration/rehabilitation of former Maoist combatants and asked him to come clear on the issue. nepalnews.com
