Lawmaker and joint general secretary of Terai Madhesh Loktantrik Party (TMLP), Ram Kumar Sharma, joined the Unified CPN (Maoist) on Friday.

Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal welcomed Sharma in the party amid a programme held at the party central office, Koteshwor.

Sharma said he joined the UCPN-Maoist as TMLP was adopting a 'status-quoist' and reactionary line on the issues of Madhesi people. He also claimed that he had worked for the Maoist party in Terai for five years.

Speaking on the occasion, Maoist chairman Dahal said Sharma's entry into the party was an answer to those who are trying to instigate split in his party. Sharma's entry will also add fervour to the Madhesi people's movement for rights, he claimed. nepalnews.com
