Two Constituent Assembly seats have gone vacant after the death of Maoist CA member Ram Kumari Yadav and the resignation of another Maoist CA member Ram Kumar Sharma.

The CA Secretariat informed about this through a press statement on Thursday.

Yadav, who was elected from Dhanusha-6, died on Saturday in New Delhi while undergoing treatment of severe injuries she received in a fire inside her rented apartment in Kathmandu last week.

Likewise, Sharma, a CA member elected from Mahottari-4 who joined the UCPN (Maoist) after quitting the Terai Madhesh Loktantrik Party (TMLP), tendered his resignation yesterday.

His resignation came after the TMLP handed over a letter to the CA chairman requesting him to vacate Sharma's seat.

The Election Commission will now start preparations for by-elections in the two vacant CA seats. nepalnews.com
