The parliamentary committee on women, children and social welfare of the legislature parliament Friday directed the caretaker government to scrap the recent decision of the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) on the licensing of nursing colleges.
Today's meeting of the committee reached a conclusion that some of the criteria set by the council are not favourable for the public heath sector. The committee also raised concern over provision of the 50-bed hospital as a prerequisite to own a nursing campus.
The House committee, which also demanded clarification from the council and education ministry by tomorrow, decided to pass such a directive with an aim to avoid negative impact on the council beneficiaries and students. nepalnews.com
