Constituent Assembly (CA) members and members of the Terai Madhes Loktantrik Party (TMLP) have assaulted Minister for Youths and Sports Ganesh Nepali at the party headquarters Tuesday.

Nepali was attacked by the party members when he reached party office at Bijuli Bazaar, Kathmandu alleging him of ignoring Madhesis and party cadres while making appointments at the National Sports Council.

Nepali is one of the ministers representing TMLP in the current UML-led coalition government.

The enraged party members also attacked journalist from Kantipur Television Prakash Chandra Pariyar and cameraman Ram Saran Sharma who had reached the site party office for news coverage.

After the incident, party chairman Mahantha Thakur had consoled the party members. nepalnews.com
