Nepal Volleyball Association (NVA) Women Commission felicitated head coach of the national team Shanti Gurung for her contribution to national volleyball.

Amidst a function in the capital on Tuesday, Minister for Youth and Sports Kamala Rokka felicitated 49-years old Gurung with letter of appreciation.

Gurung also served as volleyball coach at the National Sports Council since 2041 BS. She was a former volleyball and football player of Gandaki zone.

Gurung coaching also helped national women's volleyball team to win bronze medal during the 10th South Asian Games held in Sri Lanka.

Gurung is also experienced in coaching Nepal Army's men's volleyball team along with various remote district teams including Humla and Rolpa. She has a diploma in volleyball coaching from Bangalore and India. nepalnews.com
