Philippines secured third position defeating Palestine 4-3 in AFC Challenge Cup 2012 played at Dashrath Stadium in Kathmandu on Monday.

Philip Younghusband contributed two goals while Angel Guirado and J. Guirado added one goal each to secure victory against Palestine.

Younghusband scored an opening goal in the early fourth minute while Palestine's A. Abuhabib leveled the match in the 21st minute.

Younghusband doubled the score in the 24th minute for Philippines and Guirado added another goal in the 42nd minute to lead the match by 3-1 until first-half of the match.

In the second half of the match, Abuhabib doubled the score in the 67thminute for Palestine while Fahed A F Attal added another in the 78 th minute.

However, Guirado goal in the 69th minute proved to be the winning goal for Philippines in the match.

Now, DPR Korea and Turkmenistan will take on each other in the finals of the AFC Challenge Cup at the same venue at 6.30 PM this evening. nepalnews.com
