Nepal secured its second consecutive win in the ACC U-16 Elite Cup Tournament in Kualalumpur, Malaysia, with a comfortable eight-wicket win over Group 'B' rivals Bahrain on Sunday.

Batting first at the Kinrara Oval in Kualalampur, Bahrain set a target of 142 runs (39.5 overs) for Nepal by losing all its wickets in the total 40 overs match.

In reply, Nepal reached the target in just 21.2 overs and losing only two wickets with remarkable 75-run knock of Dependra Chand. Nurdhwaj Sen also played marvelously for his 41 runs. Chand was later declared Man-of-the-Match for his match winning innings. Nepali bowler A. Bista also proved his mettle by taking 3 crucial wickets for just 14 runs.

With four points from two games, the possibility of Nepal making it to the second round of the tournament has become very strong.

Earlier, Nepal had defeated Kuwait by a huge margin of 78 runs in the first match of the ACC U-16 Elite Cup last week.

Nepal is placed in Group 'B' alongside Malaysia, Bahrain, Kuwait and Iran while Group 'A' comprises Singapore, Hong Kong, Oman and Thailand. neaplnews.com
