The Asian Weightlifting Confederation (AWC) honoured Parthasarathi Sengupta, general secretary of the Nepal Weightlifting Association and senior weightlifting coach of the National Sports Council (NSC) with ‘Asian Gold Award’.
AWC President Mohammad Almana and General Secretary Ali Muradin Gupta handed over the prestigious award to Sengupta on April 22 during the Senior Asian Weightlifting Championship in Incheon, South Korea.
Sengupta was the injury member during Senior Asian Weightlifting Championship.
Sengupta was appointed as coach of weightlifting at NSC in 1982. He was the first coach appointed at NSC. nepalnews.com
