The 5th Media Cup football kicked off at Dasharath Stadium, Kathmandu, on Tuesday.

Terai TV and Gorkhapatra Sansthan entered the quarterfinals in the first day's matches of the tournament.

Terai TV defeated Sourya Daily 4-0 in the opening match while Gorkhapatra defeated Channel Nepal 4-3 in another match math of the day.

Altogether 14 teams including Avenues TV, Terai TV, Channel Nepal, Gorkhapatra, Himalaya TV, Nepal 1, Karobar Daily, Sourya Dainik, PJ Club, Radio Upatyaka, SJMC and SASJA are participating in the event.

The rest of the matches will be played at Buddhi Bikash Khel Mandal in the capital and the final match will be played at Dasharath Stadium. nepalnews.com
