ANFA shortlists players for SAFF Women's Football Championship

All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) on Monday shortlisted 30 member preliminary squad from 46 players in its second phase for the second SAFF Women's Football Championship scheduled to be held from September 7 to 17 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Of the total selected players, 12 players are from Armed Police Force Club including Jamuna Gurung, Anu Lama, Pramila Rai, Sajana Rana, Laxmi Poudel, Tulasha Singh, Usha Bhandari, Bhagwati Thapa, Manmaya Magar, Chandra Devi Dahal, Ranjana Darji and Mira Maharjan.

Similarly, Chandra Bhandari, Niru Thapa, Yasoda Lama, Rupa Magar, Rina Guvaju, Dhim Kumari Gurung, Menuka Giri and Namita Dali are selected from Nepal Police Club.

Likewise, other players include Nepal Army’s Anjali Waiba, Dipa Adhikari and Lima Lamgade while Nisha Bohora and Amrita Jaisi are from Kailali, Bimala Choudhary from Kaski, Sharmila Gole from Bara, Ranjita Gurung from Taplejung and Renuka Nagarkoti from Rautahat.

Total eight countries are competing in the championship including Nepal, defending champion India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives and Afghanistan. nepalnews.com
