Nepal gave a better performance to clinch a must win game against Kyrgyzstan on the second day of the AFC U-19 Championship Group 'A' qualifiers on Tuesday.

The host beat the central Asian rivals 2-1 at the match played at Dashrath Stadium, Kathmandu.

The first half was barren but Nepal scored in the 70th minute when skipper Nirajan Malla found the net. Nirajan scored through a beautiful volley bicycle kick inside the box utilizing a header pass from Sujal Shrestha. Sujal was able to pass the ball utilizing an error of the defender inside the box.

But the joy was short lived as Kyrgyz player Abdukaimov Urmat leveled the score 14 minutes later.

Then just a minute later, Shiva Shrestha scored the match winning goal. Shiva Shrestha directed the ball towards net in the long cross pass of Ganesh Khadka from the right side.

Nepal had gone down 3-0 to Yemen in the opening match while Kyrgyszstan were crushed, 4-0, by Tajikistan on the first day.

Another match played between powerhouse Yemen and Jordan today ended in a draw with 2 goals to each side. Nepalnews.com
