New Road Team (NRT) defeated Western Region 2-0 Monday but has to win its next match against Sankata Club to secure their spot in the quarterfinals of the British Gurkha Cup Football Tournament.

NRT toiled hard to score the first goal. Ranjit Shrestha scored the opening goal for NRT as he lashed on to the ball from left flank to kiss the net. Laxman Ruchal doubled the tally in one versus one with Western Region goalie Amrit Choudhary.

Earlier, Sankata Club held Armed Police Force (APF) 0-0.

Sankata and APF have four points while NRT have just three points from two matches. nepalnews.com
