Bangladeshi professional Md Shahid Khan led his team to win the Standard Chartered Pro-Am that was played today to mark the beginning of Surya Nepal Masters 2010.

The pro-am was held at the par-72 Gokarna Forest Golf Resort. Today’s event also clears the deck for the venue to play host to the professionals from around the region, including Nepal’s top golfers.

Local player Mani Rai returned the second best card of the day, a three-under 69 to be placed behind Shahid Khan in the individual gross standings. Big-hitting Shiva Ram Shrestha could only manage a round of one-under 71 despite three birdies and an eagle on his card.

Pro-Am Results were as follows:

Winning Team: Md Shahid Khan 40, Subodh Thapa 36, Rekha Ghimire 36, SK Singh 37. Team score: 149

Runner-up team: Mani Rai 39, Mithun Perera 35, Phinso Ongdi Lamda 36, Maj Gen Om Pun 37. Team score: 147

2nd Runner-up team: Sachin Bhattarai 39, Joeseph Nathan 31, Major Lachim Gurung 39, Md Dulal Hussain 38. Team score: 147

3rd Runner-up team: Md Babu Ahmed 35, Ramesh Gurung 39, Rabindra Man Shrestha 38, Lobsang Tashi 33. Team score: 145
