Flood victims residing at Krishnapur in Kanchanpur have been hit hard after the forest administration launched a drive to evict their huts.
The flood-hit people have been compelled to reside under the open sky after the administration demolished over two dozen huts of Krishnapur-2 Bandevi camp, without giving prior information on Monday evening, RSS reports.
More than 67 flood displaced families had been residing in the area for the past three years as per the decision of the District Disaster Management Committee.
Area Forest Office, Bani has dismantled huts belonging to flood-ravaged people citing the area lies in community forest.
Clash also took place between the victims and forest administration people for a while in course of dismantling the huts, informed Chairperson of District Flood Victims Struggle Committee.
