High level Finnish delegates visiting Nepal

A high-level Delegation of Finland led by Tarja Kantola, Special Advisor to the Minister, Ministry for Foreign Affairs is visiting Nepal from March 11 to 17, 2012 to observe women’s situation in Nepal and to discuss future cooperation.

This is the first visit of this kind where the parliamentarians and other development actors of Finland are jointly taking part in this kind of initiative.

The delegates include Investment Director of Finnfund, Special Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Members of Parliament, senior officials of Finn Church Aid and media persons.

According to Lutheran World Federation Nepal (LWF), the delegation will visit some of the programs implemented in different VDCs of Lalitpur District and interact with the communities.

The delegation is scheduled to hold bi-lateral meetings with the officials of Ministry of Land Reform and Management, National Planning Commission, National Women’s Commission, Nepal Rastra Bank, Commercial Banks, representatives of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industries, Federation of Women Entrepreneaur’s Association of Nepal (FWEAN), Members of the Constituent Assembly among others and discuss development issues of Nepal.
