Britain's Field Marshal Sir John Chapple is set to arrive in Nepal on 1st April in order to attend the forum on sustainable education for the environment and community, organised by the National trust for Nature Conservation at the Central Zoo, according to a statement issued by the British Embassy in Kathmandu to inform about his visit.

He was a trustee of the World Wildlife Fund (1988-1993) and President of the Zoological Society of London from 1992-1994.

A career soldier, he served with the Brigade of Gurkhas from 1954, rising to become Chief of the General Staff of the British Army in 1988.  Whilst here, he will visit British Gurkhas Nepal and the Gurkha Welfare Scheme.

He will also visit the Army Command and Staff College and meet Chief of the Army Staff, General Chhatra Man Singh Gurung. nepalnews.com
