A six-member European Union Regional Directors' Troika, headed by Klas Molin, Head of Department for Asia and the Pacific, Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Sweden, currently holding the rotating EU-Presidency, is visiting Nepal on 8 and 9 October.
During its two-day visit the Troika is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav.
The Troika is also scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, Chairman of the Constituent Assembly Subas Chandra Nembang, ministers, the Chief of Army Staff, heads of the major political parties, including representatives of the donor community and members of the civil society.
The visit will give the Troika the opportunity to assess the current state of the peace and constitution drafting processes, to confirm its strong backing for these processes and to discuss the EU's continued support for peace and economic progress for the people of Nepal, according to the press release issued by the Embassy of Germany in Kathmandu to inform about the visit. nepalnews.com
