Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has demanded  immediate action against those involved in the murder of journalist Yadav Poudel.

Poudel, 40, a Jhapa district correspondent of Avenues Television and Rajdhani Daily, and also sub-editor of New Mechi Times, a local publication, was found dead at Purvanchal Sekuwa Corner and Guest House on April 3.

Unveiling the preliminary reports prepared by high-level media mission form to investigate the murder on Monday in the capital, FNJ Chairman Shiva Gaule said that the investigation regarding the killing of Poudel should be proceeded fairly and demanded immediate action against the culprits involved in the murder.

The probe mission had prepared the report based on the conversations with hotel owner, colleagues of Poudel, witnesses and police administration.

Poudel was thrashed and pushed off the three-storey building to death, report quoted Manju Dhakal, owner of the guest house as saying.

Meanwhile, FNJ also expressed concern over delayed investigation and action regarding the attackers on journalist, Subhas Saha, reporter with Radio Nepal and the Rajdhani daily from Bara district.

Journalist Saha was seriously injured after the attack on April 13, receiving nine stitches on his head.

FNJ also urged the government to ensure security of the journalists. Nepalnews.com
