Aiming at the promotion of Japan and its contemporary as well as traditional cultures to the friendly people of Nepal, Japanese Language Teachers' Association Nepal (JALTAN) in cooperation with the Embassy of Japan as co-organizer, is organizing Japanese Karaoke Competition 2012 at Ashok Party Palace, Patan Dhoka, Lalitpur on Saturday (from 14:00 to 16:30
hrs).

The competition is supported jointly by JICA Nepal Office, Japanese Association in Nepal, Japanese Universities Alumni Association Nepal (JUAAN), JICA Alumni Association of Nepal (JAAN) and Nepal AOTS Alumni Society (NAAS).  Ambassador of Japan will attend the event as the Chief Guest.

During the Competition, the audience will have the opportunity to enjoy various traditional as well contemporary Japanese live songs, which they have very rare or almost no chances to hear live in Kathmandu.  Altogether, 8 competitive teams from Japanese language communities in Nepal and other 11 non-contesting teams will take part in the competition.  The entrance to the program venue is free for all in first-come-first-serve basis.

It is hoped that this type of occasion will help promote cultural ties between the peoples of the two countries, which ultimately helps expansion of ever-growing friendly and cooperative relationships between Japan and Nepal in the 21st century, the Japanese Embassy said in a statement to inform about the event. nepalnews.com
