Audio books, ‘Seto Bagh’ and ‘B P Koirala ko Atmabritanta’ are now available in MP3.

The autobiography of Nepal’s first popularly elected Prime Minister, B P Koirala, was recorded by former head of the BBC Nepali Service, Khagendra Nepali, in his own voice. “B P Koiralako Atmabritanta,” the first audio book in Nepali language, is now available in MP3, a press release issued by the ‘Waves Etc Ltd. London—the publisher of the book—said.

Similarly, historic novel ‘Seto Bagh’ written by Diamond Shumsher Rana, is also available on MP3, according to the publisher.  Since both these audio books are now available in MP3, they can be easily downloaded into gadgets such as iPod.

Both these audio books are now available in leading book shops and video parlours in Nepal at the subsidised rate of NRs 150 only.

Mr Nepali has also recorded and brought poet laureate Laxmi Prasad Devkota’s poems in audio book. He is now working on his fourth audio-book based on well-known novel, ‘Abiral Bagdachha Indravati’ by late Ramesh Bikal. “The idea is to popularise historic works of Nepali literature within the country as well as abroad,” said Nepali.

These audio books can be heard while driving to work, taking rest at home, by those who are visually challenged as well as by senior citizens, the press release said. nepalnews.com
