Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has increased by 12.43 points to settle at 794.39 points on Thursday from Sunday’s 781.96 points, last week.
Over a week, almost all the sub-indices of the secondary market witnessed positive growth as commercial banks gained 4.45 points, hotel 110.41 points, other 15.27 points, hydropower 79.43 points, trading 1.86 points, insurance 66.47 points, finance 2.48 points and development banks 18.58 points. However, manufacturing group lost 10.12 points.
Meanwhile, the transaction amount has decreased by 5.84 percent last week compared to the previous week.
The stock market registered a turnover of Rs 1.54 billion through 9813 transaction with 137 companies while it had registered a turnover of Rs 1.64 billion through the 11776 transaction with 130 companies.
A category companies alone contributed Rs 736.5 million of the total transaction.
In terms of highest transaction, Kumari Bank has topped the chart with Rs 160.584 million, followed by Nepal Bangladesh Bank with 112.892 million, Nabil Bank with Rs 94.283 million, Machhapuchre Bank with 81.516 million and Nepal Life Insurance Company with Rs 67.022 million.
