Minister for Information and Communication Madhav Parsad Poudel has directed the Nepal Telecommunication (NT) Company Limited’s employees to make the institution competitive among the private telecommunications.
Speaking at the 10th anniversary of the company in the capital on Wednesday, Minister Poudel said that the company is seeking international strategic partnership to introduce new technologies in order to make its service more reliable. “The government is doing homework for the same purpose.”
On the same occasion, the Chief Commissioner of Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Lokman Singh Karki sought for unity among the employees with change in their behaviour for the quality service. “The CIAA will not stay quiet if it is not done so.”
Asserting that the NT is committed in providing reliable and quality service to the customer, the company’s managing director Anoop Ranjan Bhattarai said the company has been honoured at national level for its innovative services.
The NT’s customers has also reached nearly 1 billion in the interval of 10 years. The company’s net profit has also crossed over Rs 11.29 billion by the fiscal year 2012/13.
Celebrating its anniversary, the company has announced 50 percent discounts within GSM and CDMA calls until Thursday.
The company has also introduced a new scheme in CDMA prepaid, under which customers can make unlimited calls on only Rs 20 for three months from 10 pm to 6 pm at night effective from today.
