Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has soared by 8.99 points to settle at 786.52 points on Thursday from Sunday’s 777.53 points, last week.
The secondary market index was on downward trend for the couple of weeks as it had lost 2.22 points to settle at 781.46 points, the previous week.
Over a week, insurance group became the highest gainer with 67.23 points, followed by development banks, 20.49 points, trading, 7.69 points, commercial banks, 6.08 points and finance, 5.58 points.
However, hydropower lost 10.80 points, hotel, 3.62 points, and other 1.17 points while manufacturing group remained unchanged at 943.03 points.
Meanwhile, the transaction amount has also increased by 8.73 percent to Rs 1.21 billion, last week, as compared to Rs 1.11 billion, the previous week.
Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company has topped the chart in terms of highest transaction registering the turnover of Rs 109.185 million, followed by Sanima Hydropower Company, Rs 90.843 million, Nepal Life Insurance Company, Rs 66.729 million, Nepal Bangladesh Bank, Rs 51.694 million and Chilime Hydropower Company, Rs 48.715 million.
