Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is launching the 5th Household Budget Survey (HBS) on Thursday to update the National Consumers Price Index (CPI).
During the survey, details about income and expenditure patterns of the people will be collected. The CPI gives a full account of the market price situation of the country.
The central bank is collecting details of income and expenditure patterns of 74,707 sample families from 84 market centers of 55 districts under the HBS, according to NRB spokesperson Bhaskarmani Gyawali.
Community school teachers will be deputed for conducting the survey which will continue till the next 12 months, he said.
The bank has urged the bodies concerned to give real details as sought by surveyors. Every information and details provided by the households to surveyors will be kept confidential.
