Former governor of Reserve Bank of India has said that the banks should focus on four key areas mainly on financial inclusion, capacity enhancement, investment in infrastructure and finally on risk management.
Addressing the gathering of senior banking executives in the country organised by National Banking Training Institute (NBI) in Kathmandu, Dr. Subbarao shared the international financial experience and how this has been impacting regional and local banking landscape, according to the press statement issued by NBI on Monday.
He explained that banking landscape has been changing and banks should prepare for new risks and challenges. The BASEL –III is expected to bring new tools for the risk management of financial institutions, he said.
Earlier addressing the event, Governor Yuba Raj Khatiwada highlighted the importance of increased risk management for the sustainability of the financial sector.
