The seventh Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Expo 2014 has kicked off at Bhrikutimandap in the capital on Thursday.
The main aim of the event is to promote the latest products related to ICT along with disseminating information to the general public, according to organiser ICT Association.
Inaugurating the five-day event, Minister for Information and Communications Dr Minendra Rijal said that the government will come up with an integrated ICT policy for the development of the sector. He also stressed that such policy has to be scientific.
Minister Rijal also assured to resolve the issues and challenges in the ICT sector through revised policy. He sought the support from the private sector saying that development of private sector is one of the government's top priorities.
The expo is featuring some 104 stalls of different ICT companies, both domestic as well as international.
