Campaign against irregularities at NTB getting intensified

More tourism-related associations have extended their support and solidarity to the campaign launched by the Joint Tourism Coordination Committee (JTCC) against financial irregularities at the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB).

On May 4, Nepal National Mountaineering Guides Association, Gurung Tourism Entrepreneurs' Association, Ganesh Himal Tourism Entrepreneurs' Association, NATTA Eastern Regional Chapter, Far-Western Tourism Entrepreneurs' Association, National Tourism Entrepreneurs' Organization (NCP-Maoist) and, All Nepal Hotel and Casino Workers' Union extended their solidarity to the initiative.

As part its protest against the misappropriation of funds and abuse of authority at NTB, JTCC organized a one-day workshop on the rationale of its campaign on Sunday.

Speaking at the gathering, representatives of the tourism-related organizations associated with JTCC shed light on the need for fulfilling the demands put up by the joint committee.

Ramesh Dhamala, President of Trekking Agencies' Association (TAAN), and Coordinator of JTTC, reiterated the commitment that the committee would not deviate itself from its goal.

JTCC will continue to organize the sit-in in the premises of NTB until its demands are fulfilled. The sit-in starts at 9 am.

Meanwhile, Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation and Chairman of NTB, Sushil Ghimire, has invited JTCC team to a meeting scheduled to be held on Monday at 1 pm at the ministry.
