Minister for Information and Communication, Minendra Rijal has said that the government is preparing to bring a separate Information and Communication Technology (ICT) policy so as to properly manage the ICT sector.
Speaking at an interaction program in Kathmandu Tuesday, Minister Rijal said the existing Broadcast Act has failed to address the problems of ICT sector effectively.
“There is huge potential of developing Nepal’s ICT sector,” Minister Rijal said, adding that the development of this sector would ultimately contribute to Nepal’s prosperity.
In a different note, Minister Rijal said the government is undergoing preparations to bring the annual national budget next month. “The budget will be an attempt to build up common minimum agenda of all political parties for the economic development of the country,” he said.
The minister further said the government will recommend the remaining 26 members of the Constituent Assembly soon after consultations with all political parties of CA.
