Agitating Joint Tourism Coordination Committee (JTCC) has condemned the probe panel formed by the government to investigate the financial embezzlement at Nepal Tourism Board (NTB).
Organising a press conference in the capital on Monday, JTCC, a forum of more than 20 travel trade associations, has rejected the probe committee for not including the representative from the private sector.
The government had formed the three-member investigative team under the coordination of Joint Secretary at the Tourism Ministry Purna Chandra Bhattarai.
The tourism entrepreneurs have been organising series of protest since last two weeks putting forth four-point demand.
Among others, the demand includes removal of Subash Nirola from the post of acting CEO of NTB to pave way for an early appointment of a new CEO, independent audit of expenses made by NTB over the past five years, and institutional representation of private sector in the board of NTB.
